Production Control Coordinator

TSE International designs and manufactures conductor-handling equipment for use in the construction and maintenance of electrical transmission and distribution lines, and telecommunications/fiber optic projects.

POSITION SUMMARY

Coordinate and expedite the flow of work and materials within the manufacturing department according to production schedule. Review and distribute production, work, and shipment schedules, conferring with supervisors to determine progress of work and completion dates and compiling reports on progress of work, inventory levels, costs, and production problems.

Essential Job Functions includes the following, but are not limited to:

  • Assists the Manufacturing Manager and Supervisors in the scheduling of fabrication and assembly jobs to ensure on-time delivery and to satisfy current and forecast orders
  • Interface with manufacturing personnel, purchasing personnel, etc. on material status and production planning issues
  • Expedites parts and information required from other departments to ensure scheduled work can be performed
  • Ensures job routings are correct
  • Monitors spare parts availability in stock and inventory turnover rate

Estimating

  • Assists Manufacturing Manager to develop accurate job estimates
  • Coordinates outside vendor work to ensure all parts are in house when required
  • Assists Manufacturing Manager in achieving actual to estimate hours on jobs

Change Notices and Reporting

  • Works with other departments to ensure NCRs and RFCs are resolved and all work completed
  • Assists Manufacturing Manager with the implementation of process improvement initiatives
  • Ensures all reports produced are correct and are distributed to the appropriate departments

Education and/or Experience

1-3 years of manufacturing production control experience; Post-secondary education in technical field such as Business or Engineering.  Five to ten years industrial/supervisory experience.  Strong computer skills in Word, Excel, and Powerpoint.  Ability to learn additional computer programs.
